Chinese Character Disappearing Game
Once Upon a Time in the Forest…
Once upon a time, there was a witch who lived deep in a forest. She spent one hundred years brewing a mysterious potion 🧪.

You are a lost visitor who has wandered into her home. Very soon, you will decide, by playing this game, whether the witch turns into a princess or a frog.
How the Game Works
You control the time. Your students try to remember the Chinese characters.
  • The witch deals 4–5 cards. Each card shows a Chinese character and (optionally) its pinyin.
  • You give students some time to memorize these cards.
  • Then all cards turn over and shuffle. One card is secretly removed.
  • The remaining cards flip back face up.
  • Students must say which card – and which character – has disappeared.
  • ✅ If they are correct, the witch turns into a princess and celebrates.
  • ❌ If they are wrong, the witch turns into a frog as a funny “punishment”.
  • The missing card appears on the right side. Click it to reveal the answer together.
